Moments in Chaos explores individuals within the relentless pace of New York City. The photographs focus on everyday people, caught in their own lives, as the movement of the city swirls around them. That movement becomes a blur, making New York’s relentless pace something we can feel while drawing attention to the people living within it.
Every photograph in the project was observed rather than staged.
Over the course of the past year, the project also became a personal exercise in slowing down and paying attention. The longer I worked on it, the more I found myself noticing moments I might once have walked past.  I began to see New York differently, not as a crowd in motion, but as individual lives unfolding all around me.
From a distance, New York can feel like an endless crowd moving from one place to another. But look closely enough and the crowd begins to disappear. What remains are individuals, each with a destination, a purpose, and a story. The chaos was always there. I simply learned where to look within it.
